With this new piece, I felt an urging to revisit an earlier style—one that is more loose and intuitive, making use of reclaimed lead sheets. There is a specific kind of alchemy in taking discarded lead and shaping it into a new story - a story of a calm presence. Emergence III is relaxed, comfortable in herself and not afraid of her vulnerability. In fact, it is her strength. Though she wears an armour of plated sheets, it does not consume her. She embodies balance.
